International Women’s Day: Celebrating progress, policies, and partnerships

7th March 2025 - 2 mins
International Women's Day

We take pride in creating an inclusive and supportive workplace that champions women in their careers and personal lives. Ahead of this year’s International Women’s Day, we celebrate the positive steps we have made in fostering gender equality, from leadership recognition to enhanced family-friendly policies that empower our team.

Empowering female leadership

We are proud of the recognition of our very own COO Emily, who was awarded ‘Woman of the Year’ at Property Week’s Inspiring Women in Property Awards. Emily’s vision, determination, and strategic leadership skills make her an inspiration to us all and we couldn’t be prouder.

Argyll has joined Property Week’s Inspiring Diversity in Property Pledge, reinforcing our commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable industry for women.

Supporting women in the community

Through our Fresh Start Fundraiser, we supported The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields women-only accommodation, St. Martin’s House, which provides essential services to women experiencing homelessness. Many women arrive with few belongings so the practical items donated by our customers and teams made all the difference. (Read more in our blog)

Enhancing family-friendly policies and benefits

We recognise the diverse needs of our team members and their families, which is why we have introduced enhanced policies to provide greater flexibility and support:

New Parent Policy – We have replaced our paternity leave policy with an inclusive New Parent Policy, offering six weeks of paid leave for parents of any gender, an increase from the previous two-week allowance.

Pregnancy Loss Policy – Providing compassionate leave and support for team members experiencing pregnancy loss.

Neonatal Care Leave Policy – Additional leave for parents with premature or critically ill newborns, ensuring they can be present during this challenging time.

Health Cash Plan through Simply Health – Team members can add their children for free (up to age 21), allowing them to claim back the costs of essential healthcare, including eye tests, prescriptions, and treatments.

Menopause Support – Resources through the Menopause Centre to assist team members experiencing menopausal symptoms with guidance and support.

Cancer Support – Access to Reframe, providing team members and their families with assistance from symptom checks to diagnosis and post-diagnosis support.

Childcare Support – We’re committed to making childcare more affordable through our partnership with Yellow Nest. Additionally, we offer flexible leave options and adjustable working hours to help parents manage summer school holidays with ease.

Tommy’s Partnership – We’re proud to partner with Tommy’s, reinforcing our commitment to being a supportive employer. Through this partnership, we follow best practices and provide high-quality training to create a more inclusive and informed workplace.

Happy International Women’s day!
