We’re proud to celebrate our incredible People team, who were named HR Team of the Year at the recent HR Excellence Awards.
In just 12 months, the team has reimagined Argyll’s People function, delivering value to our business and leading the way with an inclusive, data-driven, and people-first approach.
Transforming the People experience
The team’s journey began with a bold vision: to transform the People function at Argyll into a strategic team that drives employee engagement, nurtures a diverse and inclusive culture, and delivers real impact. The team embraced innovation to address key challenges like diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) while streamlining processes and enhancing the team member experience.
Key highlights of their achievements include:
- A bold digital transformation: Introducing a cutting-edge HR system to automate tasks, deliver better data insights, and improve recruitment outcomes, including a 37% reduction in time-to-hire.
- Inclusive policies: Launching impactful policies such as menopause and fertility support, pregnancy loss leave, and inclusive recruitment practices like anonymised candidate reviews.
- Supporting DEI efforts: Achieving 66% of industry DEI criteria, with a plan to reach 80% by year-end. They also introduced monthly DEI learning, inclusive leadership programmes, and partnerships like Reframe Cancer to provide vital employee support.
The People team’s commitment to work-life harmony and transparency has resulted in 97% of flexible working requests being approved and industry-leading results in pay gap reporting.
