The Argyll Guide To Soho

Soho is the lively, cultural heart of London’s West End. And our Soho office and coworking workspace is at the centre of the action.

Known the world over, Soho is infamous for its never-sleeps energy and diverse community. Its densely packed streets offer a vibrant choice of bars, clubs, cafés and restaurants. As the capital’s entertainment district, it draws many of the UK’s leading media, film and publishing businesses. Many Argyll customers choose our Soho office space and coworking workspace to be part of its creative scene. In this guide, we explore what it’s like to work in this legendary area of London.

Getting Here

Positioned at the centre of the West End, Argyll's Soho workspace is easy to get to on foot, by public transport, or on bike. As well as being close to Central, Piccadilly, Victoria and Northern London Underground lines, you’re only a couple of stops away from Charing Cross, London Victoria and Liverpool Street mainline train station. If you’re on two wheels, you can use the cycleways that bring you to the West End, and nearby Santander Cycle docking stations.

Take A Breather

A wander through the streets of Soho is always a good way to refresh the mind. Wake up the senses with a walk through Chinatown, along Carnaby Street or head to Soho Square for a little city-centre respite. Soho’s buzzing pavements are littered with the very best in independent coffee shop escapes. Treat your bloodstream to a caffeine and doughnut sugar hit at Crosstown, or Crumbs and Doilies, or go all-out hipster at Department of Coffee and Social Affairs on Carnaby Street.

Lunch Like A Local

Even if you ate out every lunchtime, you may still never make it through all of Soho’s cafes and restaurants. You’ll find all the trusted high-street staples, from Veggie Pret to Leon. But you’re also spoilt for choice with local independents: try Tongue And Brisket’s salt-beef sandwich feasts, Vienamese street food at Kêu, or some laid-back Hawaiian sashimi at Island Poké. Or if you want to take your time with a leisurely lunch, there’s The Ivy Soho Brasserie, Cecconi’s Pizza Bar or Ottolenghi’s Nopi.

Workout And Wind Down

Head south for a run along the Thames, or to the north there’s Regent’s Park – perfect for a walk or run, or join the keen cyclists tracking laps on Strava around its perimeter. Go for a 45 min blast at F45, stretch it out at Triyoga, try a studio ride at Soulcycle, or join other urban gym-goers at H2. To give your mind a break, explore the National Gallery, or watch the world go by in Trafalgar Square.

Close Of Business

When the work is done, you’re at the heart of the West End’s buzzing social scene. If you fancy a good ale, there’s an abundance of old pubs in W1, including The Ship Tavern, The Marquis of Granby and The Crown and Two Chairmen. Carnaby Street’s Kingly Court is a three-storey alfresco food and drink destination. Hideaway in Opium’s cocktail den, relax in the speakeasy vibes of the glamorous Arts Theatre Club, or have a laugh at the legendary Soho Comedy Club.
